I find this to be a fairly basic shop and not particularly good. I have tried to find what I would have considered to be basic items before and have not succeeded; also many of the shelves seemed empty of stock. However the staff have always tried to help me find what I wanted. I think simply that with Budgens just across the road it is not able to compete and I have found on balance that I prefer going elsewhere.

I've found it difficult to shop here since Co-Op bought out Somerfields just over a year ago, but I have ventured in a couple of times recently and found the store to be nicely laid out well lit and well stocked. The staff uniform seemed quite smart too. Prices are a bit high on some things, but I did get two lovely bunches of flowers @ £5 each the other day, really fresh, bright and colourful when the other flower shops in Hedge End were trying to shift their left-overs...
I've still got the problem that the Co-Op have a bit too much of a monopoly locally, particularly as I know they also used to own the Budgens chain. As a general rule of thumb, monopoly = higher prices and that puts me off shopping here as much as I used to at Somerfields...
