On Sunday I noted over 40 people using this new facility, there were people skate boarding, Scootering and BMX Biking. It was great to see so many people using the old and new side by side, my only concern was the cars parked in Woodhouse Lane.
Thanks torypaul I'm not to sure about the lock on the cleaning cupboard, it'll be just the excuse the rest of my family need not to do any cleaning at all lol. I am down at Woodhouse dropping things (usually money) off to my son on most Sa****asy and Sundays, I pull up and turn into the Cleansing Services entrance, which is all locked up so Im not causing an issue, but I see first hand the look on some motorists faces because some have to wait quite a while to pass the cars parked there. Double yellows would be good I cant see any issue with people having to park in the car park, it wont belong before there is an accident there. I'm very much a true blue, but will concede that the Woodhouse Park is great news for the kids, and am pleased that the council members who attended the meetings the kids organised at Wellstead in conjunction with the PCSO's from Wildern listened to them and found the budget that was needed.
I agree sla100, I park in the car park provided behind the bowling club, on the day a took this picture the car park was practically empty, in fact if you look closely at the picture I took, you can see cars parked directly behind the hedge on Woodhouse Lane, as this is not far from the Maypole roundabout junction and is a busy road through to Winchester Street, I feel maybe a Traffic order for some double yellow lines should be considered, or at least some signage to ask people not to park here because of the obvious safety issues for people using the footpath and drivers using this route which are many and continuous, I will ask Eastleigh Borough Council to look into it! Although nothing will happen even if it is given the go ahead as we are waiting for the new budget funds due in April.
Sorry to hear of your missing mop, I'm sure that it was put to good use an enabled everyone safe passage over the smooth water free concrete surface! Time to invest in a new padlock for the cupboard housing the dust pan and brush...?
My son spends every spare minute down there with his bike, interesting comment about the hand brush carling, my floor mop went missing, and I finally discovered that it had been taken for the greater good of trying to dry the ramps off after a bit of rain, never to be returned. I'm just off to check out if my dustpan and brush are still where they are supposed to be. I'm not sure why the cars cant park in the car park by the bowling club unless theyve been told not to.
