If you’re intending to avoid that last minute panic in September and

are already looking for ‘back to school’ uniform and stationery ‘, both

Sainsbury’s and M & S in Hedge End have stocks.

In Sainsbury’s there’s a 3 for 2 ‘back to school’ stationery

offer  with items including writing

books, pencil cases, calculators, pens, highlighters, geometry sets – etc.

There’s a fabulous Winnie-the-Pooh range of stationery. Who could

resist the books and pencil cases with Eeyore staring up through those doleful

eyes?

Also in stock are back-packs, kit-bags, lunch bags and boxes

For primary school clothing the price for boys shirts starts at £3.50

for three, you’ll find v-neck cotton jumpers from £2.00 and trousers in two pair

packs from £4.00. For girls there are grey skirts and trousers, and cardigans

in blue, navy, red, and a red I want to call ‘claret red’ but

probably shouldn’t as it’s in connection with children’s clothing and so will

use the ‘dark red’ as printed on the label.

In M & S polo shirts start at £1, trousers are from £2.50, skirts

from £3.00, and shoes – any mum out there actually enjoy the process of

buying children’s school shoes? – are available from £18.00.

M & S offers

items of clothing that are non-iron, with permanent crease and crease resistant

properties – and say their shoes are non-scuff.

They are also selling the cutest ‘It wasn’t me’ lunch boxes and all

school items ordered online, in-store or by phone will be delivered free until

Tuesday 14 September.

This is what I’ve come up with for the places to shop

for ‘back to school’ – anyone in Hedge End have other favourites they can

suggest?
