to TGRWorzel: Currently our 2 main leaders have left but at a good time that we have a St John Officer near by to take care of us. My grandma helps out there and so does a man called Mick Wheatly. We are trying to recruit for more leaders and possibly adults, now what is happening here is that when I am 16 I am able to take over the under 10's but not the cadets as I will still be a cadet.

ReportHi BelindaGuy,
It's not something I could make it along to but drop me an e-mail on daniel.clay3@ntlworld.com and I'll see if I can put an article together on where you meet, exactly what you do and who should be interested in joining, etc., for this site plus maybe see about getting it in the local free press to let as many people as possible know how to go about joining up.
Best wishes,
Daniel

ReportSounds like key to the problem at St Johns Ambulance is that there are currently insufficient adults to keep the local branch operating as effectively as it should. If cadets are learning first aid, they obviously need to be deployed locally i.e. have the chance to practice those skills, look smart and feel good about themselves and what they are doing, otherwise there's no incentive for them to keep attending.
So are there any Mums & Dads reading this, who are able to help out please...?
