This is a really useful page for knowing what goes on in Hedge End over Christmas! I´ve only just moved here, so I know nothing about what gets organised. Thanks Caroline!

ReportCarol singing is the one I always look forward too, I think that is the best way to get in the Christmas spirit! The ice rink will be great for the kids too, nice not to have to trawl all the way up to Baisingstoke or make the trip to Winchester, this time it's right on our doorstep!

ReportI didn't know about the skating rink. It will be interesting to see how that works out. Hope everybody enjoys it and you all have a nice Christmas..
Just wondering though, how much energy it takes to keep the skating rink going, how many tonnes of CO2 is released and how that squares with the proud claims of the "Eastlieigh Borough Council - Tackling Climate Change" signs that appear on the boundaries of Hedge End...!
"Global warming" seems to mean that we've got to burn more fossil fuel to create skating rinks at Xmas....
Or is the skating rink a bit like the M27, which "doesn't count" when adding up Eastleigh Boroughs CO2 emissions, i.e. CO2 is totalled selectively, according to the case that the Politicians, Scientists Environmentalists and Administrators want to make.....
