The Prince’s Trust in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is holding a
-
Manor Farm Country Park
sponsored walk at Manor Farm Country Park in Pylands Lane on Sunday 12
September, check-in at 1.00pm for a 1.30pm start.
The Prince’s Trust gives practical and financial support to 14-30
year-olds who have struggled in school, been in care, are long-term unemployed
or have been involved in crime. Since it was founded in 1976 the charity has
helped 600,000 young people, supporting a further 100 each working
day, with more than three in four of the young people they helped last year
moving into work, education or training.
So this is a great opportunity to get out into the fresh air, to get
some exercise, and to support a great cause.
The five mile sponsored walk route will begin at Barnfield Picnic Area
at Manor Farm Country Park and is said to be suitable for most ages, although
the walk contains a small number of steps and some tree roots so may not be
accessible for wheelchair users or pushchairs. However there will also be a
shorter 'easy access' route of 1.2 miles – and a quiz for walkers to take part
in if they want.
To find out more about the walk, to sign-up to take part or to sponsor
a friend already registered, visit the Prince's Trust website.
And if you do take part it would be great to see your photos on
Hedgeendpeople!
