Hedge End’s Shamblehurst Barn will not appeal its alcohol licence suspension but the pub continues open for business selling soft drinks and food. Following incidents of anti-social behaviour and the persistent selling of alcohol to under-age youths Hedge End’s Shamblehurst Barn had its licence suspended for 21 days by Eastleigh Borough Council.  See Hedgeendpeople story. Now with a new manager, the pub remains open selling soft drinks and food and will close on 19 October for redecoration, re-opening on 26 October. See the Daily Echo story.

Hedge End’s Jane Walker has been named a Woman of the Year for her work with the Philippine Community Fund.

Paul Kelly from Hedge End is to auction artwork commissioned by The Who’s Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey via a global Internet auction.
