The paintings are the work of the Friday Painters. Artists who meet to paint in the local area, and outdoors where possible, the Friday Painters have during the recent winter been based at Manor Farm and the farm and park countryside feature in many of the pictures.
The group originally met at an art class with Kirstin White who has paintings in the exhibition along with fellow painters Sheila Macgougan, Pat Primmer, Robin Coutts, Heather Reay, Derrin Wilkins, Sarion Harris and Irene Kosted.
The picture subjects range from images of animals in the Manor Farm farmyard and of the farm’s Victorian schoolroom, to scenes in the local area, such as Swanwick Marina.
The watercolours are available for sale framed from £100 to £240 and un-mounted pictures can also be bought.
Entry to the exhibition is free.
So those are the paintings finished and hanging at Manor Farm. As for the other sort of painting, works of art are created daily in the theatre with this week and next (until Friday 16 April) Creative Capers doing children’s face painting every afternoon.
Priced at £2.00 for a whole face, and £1.50 for motifs, the children can have their face painted while Mum and Dad have a few moments of peace to browse the watercolours.
For more information about events and opening times at Manor Farm Country Park, see their website.
If you’re interested in joining an art class, either a day course or a series of lessons and whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, visit Kirstin White’s website or phone her on 01489 690303.
