On Tuesday, 1 December, the Daily Echo reported that teenager Nick Illston, who is being treated for a brain tumour had asked his old school, Wildern School, to help organise Winchester Cathedral’s Festival of Carols and Music to be held on Wednesday 2 December in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust Southampton Appeal.

The Eastleigh News Extra printed a story about building work beginning at King’s Community Church.  Congregation growth has been so rapid at the Hedge End church that a £4.7m extension is needed. It’s hoped the building work – begun to coincide with the 10th anniversary of moving into the building at Upper Northam Close – will be completed by Christmas 2011.
