Hedge End's PC World closed for refit
The change is part of owner DSG (Dixons Store Group) International plc’s ‘Renewal and Transformation’ plan designed to return the company to growth. They say that equally as important as the new look will be the focus placed on customer service and the emphasis on meeting customer need through providing the right solution and product.
A representative from DSG stated, ‘Uniting the stores, and indeed reopening as a 'Megastore', means that we can offer customers the best of both brands under one roof, making shopping for electricals a much simpler and more enjoyable experience for customers. The new store will offer the widest ranges and best selection of electricals from both Currys and PC World ensuring a better shopping experience for customers.’
Eight megastores have opened so far and have proved popular with customers with each of the eight taking £1million in a single week during the Christmas period.
Recruitment for around 70 posts at the Hedge End megastore is ongoing and until the new store opens in February nearest branches are:
PC World Southampton – Mountbatten Retail Park, Western Esplanade, Southampton SO15 1QJ
Currys Park Gate – 136 Southampton Road, Park Gate, SO31 6AF
