Did you know that Hampshire is in the top ten of cheating counties? And by cheating, it’s meant husbands cheating on wives/partners and wives cheating on husbands/partners.

In fact Hampshire comes in at number four – behind only Devon (top with 47 percent of spouses apparently cheating on each other), Avon and Lincolnshire.

Hampshire, compared to Devon, is way down with only 10.5 percent of couples confessing to secret liaisons – but that’s still one in ten people admitting to infidelity. 

If you’re heading up the aisle this year perhaps Surrey would be the best place to put down roots – as Surrey came bottom in the league of cheaters with only 2 percent admitting to currently playing away.

The statistics come from a survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of extramarital dating agency, illicitencounters.com.

Nationally, according to the survey, 3 percent of spouses are currently cheating on their wife or husband, and 7 percent admit to having done so in the past – with 5 percent saying they would do so if they could get away with it!

Of course if you’re surprised by the national figures –and Hampshire’s especially – you might say, well a dating agency specialising in setting up relationships between married people would give statistics like that wouldn’t they.
