Greyhound UK which is based out of the First Hants & Dorset's Depot at Southampton have revealed that they will be expanding there services on the Greyhound.
-
Greyhound Launch Party On the launch of the Greyhound Network.
-
The Greyhound Bus
-
Greyhound Seat's.
The Greyhound service already operates out of Southampton and Portsmouth To London Victoria Station. They have said Via there facebook page that the service has grown in popularity and in an email I received told me that there sales have been going thru the roof.
The New route for the greyhound will be Bournemouth to London Victoria. This will be a direct route with no stops unbeaten like the routes which they do already. This is unlike what National Express do at the moment where they stop in many cities on the way.
They have also announced that the Portsmouth to London Victoria and return route will change and will no longer stop at The Hard Interchange but will now stop and pick up on Southsea Seafront.
They are also offering 50% discount on Greyhound coaches for customers who travel with First Hampshire and Dorset buses. All you need to do is log onto their website www.greyhounduk.com, register your details, choose when you wish to travel and enter the promotional code "First" and 50% will be taken off each ticket. Remember to show your bus ticket or pass to the Greyhound driver when you board the coach. You can also enjoy this discount on a turn up and go basis on Greyhound just by presenting your ticket/pass, whereupon you will receive 50% off the "walk-up" fare.
And thats not it. They will now offer a new ticket that combines all in one, bus, water and coach ticket offering the cheapest fares between London and Isle of Wight. In a tie-up between Greyhound, Hovertravel and Southern Vectis, they are offering an all-inclusive fare that allows you to travel to/from absolutely anywhere on the Island to London, in both directions! Fares start at £8 single (plus 50p booking fee), with an average fare of just £14 - including bus, Hovercraft and the Greyhound. Tickets are on sale right now for journeys made from 1st May, whereupon all Portsmouth services will also serve The Hovertravel Terminal in Southsea. From 1st June, Greyhound services will also connect in both directions with Hovertravel at Southsea and it will be possible to go from Newport to London in well under 3 hours!
All of these changes are due to take effect on the 1st of May but tickets are already on sale.
