In addition to the centre based services offered by the Eastleigh Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) at its Hedge End centre in The Old Library, St John’s Road, the CAB now also provides a Home Visiting Service.
Eastleigh CAB is an independent charity which gives free, confidential, impartial and independent advice on a range of issues including:
Debt and money matters
Housing issues and homelessness
Welfare Benefits
Relationship and Family Problems
Employment
Consumer Problems
Legal procedures
The Home Visiting Service has been introduced to enable people who can’t visit the centre whether due to age, disability or illness to still obtain advice and all the CAB’s services are open to anyone regardless of race, sex, disability, sexuality or nationality.
Hedge End’s Citizens Advice Bureau in St John’s Road is open for drop-in or appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10.00am-4.00pm and on Thursday from 1.00-7.00pm. For more information about centre services – which also include a telephone advice line – phone 01489 796651.
For more information about the Home Visiting Service or to request a Home Visit, contact Charlotte Browning on 023 8061 7575.
Eastleigh CAB employs both paid staff and trained volunteers and for details about their services – or if you’d like to read more about volunteering for the CAB – visit their website.
Eastleigh CAB is also a member of the national Citizens Advice service. Set up initially as an emergency war service on 4 September 1939 the day after the Second World War was declared, the Citizens Advice Bureaux exists to provide free information and advice on legal, money and other issues and also to influence policy makers.

Brilliant idea to have home visits. It makes it more private and accessable to those who cannot get to it.
In my experience its not just debt that CAB deal with.
It really helped me to find help with my disability. They were so helpful and understanding.
Please remember that all its staff are volunteers too

ReportHome visits - what a good idea. I know from what people have told me that the CAB does brilliant work on debt problems, quite apart from all its other services.
It's one of those institutions I've never heard anyone say a bad word about. And that's pretty unusual - we tend to be a moany, negative race on occasions....
