Love Parks Week starts on Saturday 24 July and will be marked across the country until Sunday 1 August with events designed to encourage people to get out and enjoy their parks.

Itchen Valley Country Park
Throughout the week Itchen Valley Country Park is holding a treasure trail every morning, beginning at 10.30am. The cost is £1.75 per trail pack and you can find out more information by calling 023 8046 6091.
The Love Parks Week website has details of other events to be held in Hampshire such as a Beautiful Butterfly Activities Day at the Hawthorn Centre on Southampton Common on Wednesday 28 July (no charge for the event) or the ‘Huguenot’ event Picnic in the Park at Town Quay Park in Southampton on Sunday 1 August – where you can learn about plans to improve the park and replant the historic Huguenot garden as well as visit Quilters Vault and St Julien’s French Church which will be open specially for the occasion.
And if you have any feedback you’d like to share on the parks in Hedge End, you can do so online via the Love Parks Week website’s Rate your park survey.
Love Parks Week is an annual event organised by GreenSpace, a charity founded in 2006 to campaign to improve parks and green spaces. Last year over 400,000 people took part in 600 events held to mark the 2009 week.
