Are You Posh In Hedge End?

Having heard an article on the radio on how to tell if you’re posh, and also read about it in various newspapers, I thought I’d ask how people in Hedge End would classify themselves.
Some of the tell-tale signs of being posh include whether you have an Aga, employ a cleaner or shop in Waitrose.
Also drinking Earl Grey tea and ‘everyday’ wine that costs more than £10 a bottle, driving a 4X4 and wearing clothing from a traditional ‘country’ stockist such as Barbour are indications of being posh, as is eating ‘supper’ in the evening and kissing friends on both cheeks.
According to the survey conducted by Opinion Research, 63 percent of people would not like to be thought of as posh – look at the number of famous people (including the Prime Minister) who play down their background – but almost three quarters (73 per cent) would like to marry somebody that is.
The Daily Mail has a ‘posh test’ and if you answer ‘yes’ to three of the 13 questions, you’re defined as posh.
I had a score of five yeses – but I’m not saying which!
And I certainly don’t consider myself posh – although, I am with the National Trust (which is posh) in preferring ‘lavatory’ to ‘toilet’.
Oh, and I wonder how you’d describe people who shop in Sainsbury’s but use Waitrose bags?

Why should being posh and the virtues you describe be mutually exclusive, Worzel?
Can't you be these things AND posh?!
People do aspire to it, though, rightly or wrongly - I've known plenty of Hyacinth Buckets in my time.

ReportI'm not surprised you got five, LillyLulu - you ARE posh! We are what we are....it's not our fault, just an accident of fate/education/ambition. We will never defeat class in this country - or any other - and it keeps life interesting.
I'm not, but I know it when I see it....and I'm posher than some of my friends!
