Where to buy fireworks in Hedge End at the last minute

Having decided at the last minute to hold a fireworks party today, Saturday 6 November, we wondered whether there’d be any fireworks left on sale in Hedge End – but after having done a sweep of the town I can report there is still a good stock on sale.

Just for Fun at Unit 5 Hedge End Trade Park, Tollbar Way, has a good selection as does Shergolds Nursery in Burnetts Lane, West End.

Hedge End’s Homebase in Tollbar Way has a two-for-one offer, and B & Q in Charles Watts Way has a similar offer on selected fireworks. Hedge End’s Sainsbury’s in Tollbar Way also has a fireworks stand.

But if you normally buy your fireworks at Hollygrove Farm in Upper Northam Drive you’re in for a disappointment this year as due to the recent death of the owner, Mark Berrow, and licence holder the shop is no longer able to stock fireworks. Hollygrove is however, still open to sell all its other usual produce and products.

So  if like us you’ve woken up to blue sky and sun and have seen the rain-free forecast and fancy some firework fun,  but don’t want to do it yourself, have a look at Hedgeendpeople’s story Hedge End Firework Displays which has details of a number of public displays being held locally including three scheduled for tonight: at Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley; at Mayflower Park in Southampton; and in Winchester the traditional torchlight procession will wind its way from the Guildhall to River Park where Winchester Round Table is holding ‘the world’s first interactive firework display’.

Although as I write the sky is starting to cloud over. But then it wouldn’t be being British if we didn’t have to have our fingers crossed for the weather.
