Are the number of drivers driving through red lights at the traffic lights in the centre of Hedge End (out side Budgens) increasing? Today I twice encountered drivers accelerating at red lights and crossing them 1-2 seconds after they had changed to red. The first was a van driver (who I decided to step out in front of slightly just to raise his stress levels a little!) and the second was a lady in a big Chelsea tractor who flew through them as I walked my young children to the post office. What can be done? Cameras, better Police presence, raising the level of the whole junction (akin to a huge speed bump or perhaps removing the lights altogether? The last option sounds crazy but has actually worked near Bristol, reducing commuting time for drivers whilst also slowing traffic down ! (There's a Youtube clip out there somewhere). Thoughts anyone? Are there any Policemen/women out there reading this, because if there are I would love to hear your thoughts.

I agree...same thing happened to me today. Hard to know how to combat it until human nature becomesmore altruistic. I think a random police presence and pulling the culprits over might help send the message that Hedge Enders are not willing to be abused in this way.

The video was an example of creative management in a newsletter from the Chartered Management Institute.
