I reasonably believe that there will still be a development at the location but have no doubt it will be far less than the 6,000 previously planned for. At the end of the day there is chronic housing need in Eastleigh and the leader of the council has stated that the council take their responsibility to provide housing very seriously and they are not a 'NIMBY' council when it comes to the supply housing for local need.

They might have voted that way back in 2010 when they wanted re-election but now it is back on the agenda.

And the Lib Dems are still lying about the 6000 houses in the latest Standpoint, claiming that they've "scrapped Labours plan for 6000 houses". Those words dropped through my letterbox only yesterday...!
We're mad to keep voting this bunch of two-faced shysters into the Council Chambers...
Yes TGR and curiously Lib Dem' run Eastleigh Borough Council has posted everyone a 4 page glossy booklet (at huge cost to the Council Tax payer, no doubt) asking you to choose between "B" A further 1,400 hundred homes at a site near Boorley Green or "A" 1,400 Homes at Allington Lane, and that's not including the 1,000 you speak of a Woodhouse Lane, I would prefer option "C" Option C is for "None of the above" I already leave home half an hour early to get to work! 3,800 extra homes mean 9,500 more cars! Are there plans to widen the M27 to 6 lanes? I'm waiting a month for a scan; services are already stretched, let's hope it's nothing major! The solution is to vote for local Conservatives at the ballet box in May 2012.
