Now I'm a little "stressed" after my Christmas do,so forgive any errors, but I've just waited for the 23.35 bus from Botley to get back to Hedge End.

I noticed that according to the timetable on the bus stop, that this bus doesn't seem to pick up until it gets to the Barleycorn, and then only goes as far as Sainsburys. Could be wrong on that.

So.... As I'm standing at the Botley Health Centre bus stop, along comes the 8a, and sails straight past, WHILST THE DRIVER READS A PIECE OF PAPER.

Two things - Firstly, which candidate for the Darwin awards 2011 dreamt up a timetable where the bus drives past and doesn't pick up? Fuel etc already paid.

Secondly, is it allowed for someone driving a bus to go along reading?

The 23:35 8a should pick up from Botley. It travels to Hedge End via Maypole and the Barleycorn, then via Wildern Lane and Charles Watts Way to the Superstores and into Southampton. All stops are request stops so it does depend on a clear indication to stop being given by waiting passengers.... and, of course, on the driver keeping his eyes open! I would suggest a strongly worded letter to First Bus Hampshire would be in order.

Thanks but I've written to the County Council who I hope administer the contract.

In fairness, on the bus stops in Botley, there is a "DD" (I think) alongside the 23.35 which says "Starts at the Barleycorn and goes as far as the superstores"

But it gets worse. On the 22nd my wife and I waited for the 22.35, thinking that would run. By 23.00 it hadn't turned up so we got a taxi at £9!!
