Police have today (Friday 27 August) issued an E-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault on two 15-year-old boys in Hedge End that took place at St. John’s Road recreation ground on 6 July.

The two 15-year-olds were playing football with friends when a small blue Peugeot car passed them at around 8.45pm, the car’s occupants swearing at the group of boys.

After pulling into the Centre 2000 car park five men got out of the car, walked towards the  group and assaulted  the two boys, both from Hedge End.

One suffered a minor injury to his head and the other a fractured jaw.

The occupants then drove away in the car towards Hedge End village centre.

Three suspects, all white men, are described as follows:

Suspect 1 has a tanned complexion, is 18 to 19-years-old, 6ft tall with a muscular build and short dark brown hair. He was wearing a red sleeveless vest and dark tracksuit trousers.

Suspect 2 is also 18 to 19-years old and about 6ft, with a big build, dark brown hair and had on a red t-shirt.

Suspect 3 has a pale complexion and short ginger hair, is about 5ft 10ins tall and has a skinny build. He wore a blue t-shirt.

PC Phil Dennett said: “This was a particularly nasty unprovoked attack which left one of the victims with a broken jaw.

“We have followed a number of lines of enquiry and are hoping that by issuing this E-fit image the public can help us to identify those responsible for this assault.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information which might help the police is asked to contact PC Phil Dennett at Eastleigh police station on 101 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
